Rhea Ripley Thinks It'll Be A Long Time Before WWE Runs WrestleMania Outside Of The USA

Rhea Ripley not hopeful of an overseas WWE WrestleMania any time soon

Traditionally, the first ‘W’ in WWE used to stand for ‘world’, with the leading pro-wrestling company on the planet attracting a worldwide following, and running events all over the globe.

For most of its existence, WWE has held the majority of its monthly PPV events in North America, and has only started to regularly run high-stakes PPVs and ‘premium live events’ elsewhere on the planet in the last few years, with major events held in the UK, Saudi Arabia, and Australia.

With Money in the Bank set for London’s O2 this Summer, it marks the first ‘big five’ event to be held outside of North America for decades, but as Rhea Ripley told GiveMeSport, don’t hold your breath on WrestleMania leaving North America:

"I would love to see it go somewhere else, but I feel like it might be a long time until we see something like that just because like it's always based in the US," said Ripley.

Of the 38 WrestleMania events that have taken place, 36 were in the USA, whilst two emanated from Canada. Speaking on the logistics of an overseas WrestleMania, Ripley said the following:

"I don't know the business and money side of everything. I would love to see it but probably a lot goes into it and I don't know if the business side would allow that to happen. But I think that would be incredible. And so many people would love to go there and watch it."
