Ric Flair Claims WWE 'Did Something' After He Signed With AEW

WWE 'did something' after Ric Flair signed with AEW, with some in the company believed to be upset with the deal

Not everyone within WWE appears to be happy with Ric Flair joining All Elite Wrestling as the 16-time world champion has claimed WWE "did something" after he signed with their competitor.

"I think some people are upset with me now that I went to work at AEW. I don't know why. If you're acknowledging, and you think I've contributed to the business, and I know I have because I hear it every day, you would think they would let me do whatever I want to do. As long as it doesn't affect them. I'm not going to get on TV and say 'AEW is better,' I'm not doing something stupid. I'm just working. That's all I know how to do. They're mad. Not mad, but they did something... I'll tell you off camera," Flair told Shannon Sharpe on Club Shay Shay.

What exactly WWE did is unknown and Flair did not later elaborate. Flair's "Wooo!" is still a part of the open for WWE programming.

Flair has been a part of AEW since October 25 and he will be a part of Sting's final run until The Icon's retirement match at Revolution 2024. Flair signed a multi-year deal with AEW upon signing, although much of his salary is covered by Flair's energy drink
