Ric Flair Provides Update On His WWE Royal Rumble Status

Ric Flair on his WWE Royal Rumble status

Two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has provided an update on his status for the Royal Rumble, after it was reported that he would be at January's premium live event.

According to Flair, while he has been invited to be at the 30th-anniversary episode of Raw six days prior, he has not yet been formally invited to the Rumble.

Clarifying the situation on his To Be The Man podcast, the 16-time world champion said:

"I'm still looking forward to the thirtieth anniversary. By the way, of course, social media screwed that up, I have not been invited to the Rumble. I am going to San Antonio to sign autographs separately, on the day of the Rumble. I was not invited to the Rumble. However if they want me to put my gear on, like at Last Match, that's fine".

Flair and co-host Conrad Thompson then joked about Flair getting a new robe made for the match, as well as the possibility of The Nature Boy entering the bout at number 30 (the number he drew in 2005). Flair famously won the 1992 version of the Royal Rumble, bagging his first WWE Title in the process. He last entered the Rumble in 2007, entering at number one and being the first person eliminated (by Edge).
