NJPW Return For The Young Bucks Teased

The Young Bucks back to NJPW?

Could the Forbidden Door be set to open again?

Kenny Omega will make his return to New Japan Pro-Wrestling at Wrestle Kingdom 17 on January 4, 2023, when he finally goes one-on-one with Will Ospreay for the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship. A match between the two competitors has been teased over the past year and Omega confirmed he would be competing in NJPW for the first time since January 4, 2019, at the joint NJPW-Stardom Historic X-Over event.

Ospreay vs. Omega might not be the only United Empire vs. The Elite clash at Wrestle Kingdom 17. During a recent virtual meet-and-greet, IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Francesco Akira and TJP invited The Young Bucks to return at the Tokyo Dome and face them.

Akira said: "I mean, Kenny [Omega] is coming to take a lot of beat from [Will] Ospreay so why not bring The Young Bucks also to take a loss from us?"

The Young Bucks previously competed in NJPW from 2013 until January 4, 2019, when they left the promotion along with Kenny Omega and Cody Rhodes to form All Elite Wrestling. The Bucks are seven-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions and one-time IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions.
