Over the past few days, several reports have claimed that Ricochet's WWE contract is due to expire this month and he has not signed a new deal with the company. The reports sourced the news back to Bryan Alvarez on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Live. However, Alvarez did not say anything about Ricochet's contract on the episode in question and the only contract news mentioned on the show was when the host said Riddle may not have re-signed with WWE.
One such report from Ringside News claimed Ricochet "only has a couple of days left in WWE" unless he had previously signed a new contract or agreed to an extension with the company.
The former United States Champion quickly shot down the story, though, and tweeted: "This is fake" with two down pointing backhand index emojis.
Bryan Alvarez also tweeted that he never said anything about Ricochet's WWE deal, writing: "Actually, you didn't, because I never said that."
Ringside News has since apologised to Bryan Alvarez, Ricochet and their readers.
