Tommy Dreamer's third stint with TNA Wrestling has come to an end, with Dreamer announcing on Busted Open Radio on Wednesday that he and TNA had mutually agreed to part ways.

Dreamer's exit has taken place as part of what the Anthem-owned promotion described as a "workforce reduction, designed to streamline operations and sharpen strategic focus and profitability." The former ECW talent had been a part of TNA in his latest run since 2018 and he had been involved with TNA creative since January 2019. Dreamer also worked in the talent relations department.

Dreamer's departure came together after talks with TNA President Carlos Silva. Some in TNA noted to Fightful Select they knew the move was coming in recent weeks, but it was expected to happen after Slammiversary.

PWInsider has reported that Hunter "Delirious" Johnson will be the head of TNA creative moving forward. That doesn't mean the company won't add new members to the creative team, but Delirious is considered the point person going forward.

Delirious was previously the head booker of Ring of Honor from August 2010 until Tony Khan's purchase of ROH in March 2022. Delirious joined TNA later that year and has been involved with creative since 2023.

Fightful noted that one name discussed within TNA to replace Tommy Dreamer is Road Dogg. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer stated that TNA and Road Dogg had been in talks for weeks, but it was only known that he would be joining Dreamer on the creative team as opposed to replacing him.

Brian James had been the co-head writer of SmackDown until he quit WWE in March of 2026 as he felt he wasn't earning his wage and was no longer having fun working for the organisation.

Brian James previously wrestled for TNA from 2002 until 2009 and was a member of multiple factions in 3 Live Kru, the James Gang, and Voodoo Kin Mafia. He became a two-time NWA World Tag Team Champion in TNA, holding the belts with Ron Killings and Konnan.
