Rob Van Dam Addresses AEW Future Ahead Of In-Ring Debut

Van Dam takes on Jack Perry on tonight's episode of AEW Dynamite.

Rob Van Dam is set to make his in-ring AEW debut on tonight's edition of Dynamite. The Whole F'N Show will challenge Jack Perry for the FTW Championship, in a match that was set up when Van Dam surprisingly showed up on last week's episode of Dynamite.

While the 52-year-old is reportedly only slated to wrestle this one match for the company, Van Dam is taking a 'wait and see' approach when it comes to his AEW future.

Speaking about it during a recent edition of his One Of A Kind With RVD podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer simply said, "We'll see how it goes".

The former WWE Champion also spoke about how he was worried his appearance last week would leak out and that AEW went to great lengths to keep him hidden from view.

On the vibe backstage, Van Dam said:

"It's not the big stressful production of WWE, it's definitely not a small little indie show either. It's somewhere in between, but closer to WWE. But when I've done TV for international shows that my fans wouldn't know about, like in the UK or Australia, maybe I would [compare it to that] as far as like the free air, people are walking around genuinely happy to be there. I don't know how to describe it as being…I can't think of anything that was like, outstanding".

Mr. Wednesday Night indicated he would retire the FTW Title, should he defeat Perry tonight.
