Rob Van Dam Hints WWE Gave Him Permission To Wrestle For AEW

Rob Van Dam also might have a future in AEW

WWE may have given Rob Van Dam their blessing for him to perform in All Elite Wrestling.

RVD made his AEW debut earlier this month before he faced Jack Perry for the FTW Championship on the August 9 edition of Dynamite. Van Dam rolled back the years as he connected with his greatest hits, including a Five-Star Frog Splash. Van Dam would ultimately lose the match as Perry retained the FTW Title, much to the chagrin of Taz.

While many were happy to see Rob Van Dam back on TV, some fans accused the WWE Hall of Famer of betraying WWE. RVD revealed that Vince McMahon's company may have granted him permission to wrestle in AEW, though.

"Some fans are saying I did WWE wrong by appearing on AEW. I wonder if they would all eat s**t f I revealed that I had permission to do it? Or would they just move on to puke out the next meaningless bulls**t that comes out of their mouths? Yeah, I figured. I'll keep it to my self for now," RVD tweeted.

Van Dam is still closely linked with WWE, appearing on TV earlier this year to name a WWE Draft pick. He is currently being advertised for WrestleMania 40 weekend.

RVD might have a future in AEW, revealing on his podcast that he and Tony Khan have discussed him coming back to do more with All Elite Wrestling.

"Was it talked about between me and Tony about me coming back? Yeah. The details of that conversation, we'll have to wait and see," Van Dam stated.
