AEW Official Believes CM Punk Vs. Kenny Omega Is 'Just A Matter Of Time’
Kenny Omega vs. CM Punk is bound to happen in AEW according to one official
Almost a year after the events of the All Out 2022 backstage brawl, and we are seemingly no closer to CM Punk and The Elite working together, with Punk’s off-the-cuff comments about Hangman Page after a recent Collision broadcast seemingly sparking the fire once again.
Many AEW fans and industry insiders alike believe that if the two sides can patch things up on a professional level then there is a lot of money to be made, especially if AEW can promote a CM Punk vs. Kenny Omega match.
Whilst on the Torg & Elliot show, AEW coach Mark Henry has given his take on the situation, saying he believes the match will happen someday:
"I want to see it too. It's just a matter of time. You let things iron themselves out, and you see where things lead to. Could you imagine an AEW tournament for the World Title and on one side of the bracket, to go to the finals, you have Kenny Omega and CM Punk meet up against each other? It would be incredible," said Henry.
Punk and Omega are two of AEW’s biggest stars, but have never faced each other in any capacity… on screen at least.
