Robert Roode Undergoes Second Neck Fusion Surgery

Another neck fusion surgery for Robert Roode

Robert Roode has revealed he underwent neck fusion surgery for the second time on May 11, which also happened to be his birthday.

"Another trip around the sun and another trip to Birmingham, Alabama. Quite a way to celebrate my birthday lol. Had a C4/5 cervical fusion to go along with the C5/6 fusion back in November. Most importantly it was a success thanks to the man himself Dr Andy Cordover and the first class staff here at @andrews_sports_medicine. Big thank you @deneane__17 for being my rock throughout this entire process. It's been a challenging year to say the least. Road to recovery part 2!" Roode wrote in an Instagram post

As mentioned, Roode underwent neck fusion surgery on his C5 and C6 vertebrae back in November 2022. The surgery often keeps talent out of action for at least one year and it was noted recently that Roode would be on the shelf until 2024.

The former NXT Champion hasn't wrestled in a WWE ring since losing to Omos at a house show in Amarillo, Texas in June 2022.

After a long and successful career in TNA, Roode signed with WWE in 2016. Along with his run as NXT Champion, Roode is a former United States Champion and tag team champion, having held the belts with Dolph Ziggler and Chad Gable.
