Report: Spoiler On WWE SmackDown Plans For Roman Reigns

Update on WWE's plans for Roman Reigns on SmackDown

After over a month away from the company, Roman Reigns will return to WWE TV on tonight's edition of Friday Night SmackDown from Knoxville, Tennessee. This will be Reigns' first appearance since the Raw after WrestleMania 39.

Amid rumours that Reigns will be in action at WWE's Night of Champions pay-per-view on May 27, WRKD Wrestling have provided more details about the company's plans for the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion on tonight's SmackDown.

There have been issues within the Bloodline since WrestleMania 39, particularly around Roman Reigns' lack of faith in The Usos after they lost the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles to Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn at the Shows of Shows. Reigns' lack of trust in Jimmy and Jey is set to worsen on SmackDown and he will decide to "take matters into his own hands at Night of Champions."

Furthermore, main roster debuts for former NXT talents are preliminarily planned for SmackDown. The likes of Cameron Grimes, Grayson Waller, and Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn were selected by SmackDown during the 2023 WWE Draft.

Advertised for SmackDown is the blue brand's portion of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship tournament. Edge, AJ Styles, and Rey Mysterio will face off in one triple threat before Bobby Lashley, Austin Theory, and Sheamus clash in another three way. The winners of those matches will go one-on-one later in the show for the right to face Seth Rollins in the tournament final at Night of Champions.

The WWE Women's Tag Team Titles will also be on the line when Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez take on Damage CTRL's Dakota Kai and IYO SKY.
