Rocky Romero Reveals Positive COVID Test, AEW Rampage Match Changed

The Roppongi Vice reunion is on hold

Rocky Romero has revealed a positive COVID test, which will take him out of tonight's planned match on AEW Rampage.

Romero tweeted, "Sorry everyone… Gonna have push back the RPG Vice reunion. COVID got me. Currently I’m feeling very mild symptoms. I’m vaxed and boosted so should kick right out of this!!"

Romero was originally booked to team with Roppongi Vice partner Trent Beretta to face longtime NJPW rivals The Young Bucks. The match will now see Beretta take on Nick Jackson in singles competition.

Preceding Romero's tweet, Tony Khan announced the match change on Friday's Busted Open Radio, citing medical protocol. Khan also revealed that Jon Moxley's return bout with Ethan Page will open tonight's show, while the TBS title bout pitting Jade Cargill against Anna Jay will serve as main event.

The card for tonight's AEW Rampage, taking place at the Entertainment and Sports Arena in Washington, DC, is as follows:

* AEW TBS: Jade Cargill (c) vs. Anna Jay

* Jon Moxley vs. Ethan Page

* Trent Beretta vs. Nick Jackson

* Hook vs. Serpentico
