ROH Bringing Back Survival Of The Fittest To Crown New TV Champion

ROH Survival of the Fittest set to crown new TV Champion

After Samoa Joe vacated the ROH World Television Championship on the November 8 edition of AEW Dynamite, questions arose as to what the future of the championship would be.

On the November 16 episode of ROH TV, ROH President Tony Khan revealed the future of the championship, with the Survival of the Fittest set to return to crown a new champion at Final Battle on December 15.

Khan announced that a series of eliminator qualification matches will take place on ROH TV leading up to Final Battle, with the six-man elimination match at Final Battle set to decide the new champ.

This will be the first Survival of the Fittest match since 2021, and the first for the TV Championship. In the past, the tournament winner would receive a shot at the ROH World Champion, with Bandido winning the 2021 edition and subsequently defeating RUSH for the gold at Best in the World.

The tournament has been a fixture of ROH since 2004, with the inaugural edition won by Bryan Danielson. Other winners include Adam Cole, Roderick Strong, Chris Hero, and Tyler Black.
