ROH Tag Team Title Match Set For Final Battle
The OGK will put the straps on the line
Nov 17, 2021
Heading into Ring of Honor’s final show of the year Final Battle on December 11, ROH have announced that the ROH World Tag Titles will be on the line at the event, with reigning champions The OGK Matt Taven and Mike Bennett defending against The Briscoes.
With Final Battle scheduled to be ROH’s final PPV before their hiatus in Q1 2022, there is also the chance this could be the last ROH show ever, and on ROH Week By Week, OGK’s Matt Taven called The Briscoes the greatest tag team in ROH history and said there would be no greater honour than facing ‘Dem Boys’ at Final Battle.
The OGK are in their second reign as ROH World Tag Team Champions, having defeated La Faccion Ingobernable’s Dragon Lee and Kenny King for the titles at Honor For All on November 14.
Taven’s opinion on The Briscoe Brothers is no hyperbole, as Jay and Mark are easily the greatest team in ROH history, with 11 tag title reigns clocking in at a combined 1,263 days during their almost 20 year association with Ring of Honor. Fittingly, The Briscoes last lost the titles at Final Battle 2019, dropping the straps to The Foundation’s Jay Lethal and Jonathan Gresham.
