As seen over the weekend on Ring of Honor Television, an ROH World Championship match has been announced for the upcoming 19th Anniversary Show on March 27.
After overcoming EC3, Matt Taven, and Jay Briscoe in a four-way match, former two-time World Champ Jay Lethal will once again try to lay claim to the title when he takes on fellow two-time Champ Rush at the PPV.
Rush’s current reign with the belt sits at over 365 days, having defeated PCO for the title at Gateway to Honor 2020. Lethal last won the ROH World Championship in 2018, losing the title to Matt Taven at the G1 Supercard event at Madison Square Garden in 2019.
This will be the first ROH Anniversary show since 2019, with last year’s 18th Anniversary Show cancelled due to Covid-19. Last year’s show was set to be a two-night event, with the second night being an ROH Past vs. Present spectacular, featuring classic stars like Homicide, Xavier, and The Havana Pitbulls amongst others.
