Roman Reigns Not Advertised For WWE Backlash 2024

WWE Backlash 2024 advertisements not featuring Roman Reigns

As WWE’s biggest star, Roman Reigns has the luxury of working a relaxed part-time schedule, with the long running Undisputed WWE Universal Champion having only wrestled 11 matches in 2023, seven of which were broadcast.

It appears that Reigns' 2024 is looking likely to follow a similar pattern to his 2023, with Reigns not currently advertised for Backlash in May.

The first ever WWE ‘premium live event’ to broadcast from France, current advertising materials for the show feature Cody Rhodes, Becky Lynch, Randy Orton, Bianca Belair, Seth Rollins, and Rhea Ripley. Whilst this doesn’t rule Reigns out entirely from appearing, it is a subtle indicator as to his current status for the show. Reigns is also absent for advertising materials for the Bash in Berlin event in Germany in August 2024.

Reigns last wrestled at WWE Crown Jewel in November 2023, which was in turn his first televised match since SummerSlam in August. The ‘Tribal Chief’ is believed to be set to wrestle at the Royal Rumble on January 27, with Reigns’ TV return scheduled for SmackDown on December 15.
