Roman Reigns Vs. Daniel Bryan, Apollo Crews vs. Big E Set For Next Friday's WWE SmackDown

Two championship matches, one with larger ramifications

Two championship matches are set for next Friday's episode of WWE SmackDown, one of which has more on the line than just gold.

In a match for the WWE Universal title, Roman Reigns will defend against a man he battled at both Fastlane and WrestleMania 37, Daniel Bryan.

Cesaro had actually challenged Reigns earlier in the evening, only to be rebuked by the champion at night's end. Reigns claimed that Cesaro hasn't done enough to earn the shot, and instead announced that he had a proposal for Bryan.

Reigns offered Bryan the shot for next week's card, on the condition that if Bryan loses, he would be banished from SmackDown. Bryan accepted the challenge.

In a rematch from both WrestleMania 37 and Fastlane, Big E and Apollo Crews will square off for Crews' Intercontinental title.

Crews retained his title over Kevin Owens on SmackDown Friday night, following a distraction from Commander Azeez. After the match, Big E attacked Crews backstage to set up their match for next Friday.

Crews won the title from Big E at WrestleMania on April 11 in a "Nigerian Drum Fight", following interference from Azeez.
