Ron Simmons To Appear On WWE Broken Skull Sessions

DAMN meets WHAT

WWE have announced that the next guest on the broken skull sessions will be Ron Simmons.

The episode will air on the WWE Network on Peacock on Friday, February 18, which is the day before the Elimination Chamber event.

Former WWE star Simmons began his wrestling career in the mid-1980's following a spell in pro football.

He made history by becoming the first black World Heavyweight Champion in WCW, when he beat Vader in 1992.

Simmons would then go on to work for WWE, where he was renamed Farooq. He was the leader of influential stable The Nation of Domination and formed the popular APA tag team with Bradshaw, winning the WWE Tag Team Titles on three occasions.

Ron retired from full-time in-ring competition in 2004 and made sporadic appearances thereafter, usually in comedic segments that concluded with him saying his signature 'DAMN' catchphrase.

Simmons was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2012.

Past episodes of the Broken Skull Sessions have featured other Hall of Famer guest like Bret Hart, Ric Flair, Kurt Angle, Goldberg, Kane and many more.

An episode with John Cena was filmed and slated to air in September 2021, but WWE pulled the episode and aired one with Seth Rollins instead.
