Ruby Soho: The Riott Squad Was Supposedly Born From Vince McMahon Watching Suicide Squad

Soho debuted for AEW at All Out 2021

Ruby Soho says she heard that her WWE faction, the Riott Squad, was born out of Vince McMahon watching the Suicide Squad move and wanting a similar group in WWE.

Soho, formerly known as Ruby Riott, was released from WWE in early July and has since signed with All Elite Wrestling. During her time in WWE, she aligned with Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan as the Riott Squad.

Speaking on Talk Is Jericho, she said: "I was only in NXT for nine months. I actually started on my birthday, Jan. 2017, and then I debuted. They just needed somebody that looked as insane as Nikki Cross, and that’s why I debuted on NXT. And then shortly after that, in Nov. 2017, the same year, is when myself, Liv, and Sarah [Logan] debuted.

"And from what I understand, I don’t know how much truth there is to this, Vince [McMahon] watched the Suicide Squad and wanted a Joker, a Harley Quinn, and a beast in a female faction."

Chris Jericho then said that Vince 'probably' did not watch Suicide Squad, but knows he once watched Spiderman.

Soho continued: “Maybe it was just a trailer he watched? I’ve always wondered what made him put that group together, the three of us. He wanted a Joker, which was me. A Harley Quinn, which was Liv Morgan and a beast, which was Sarah. make sense."
