Sammy Guevara Regains AEW TNT Title At Battle Of The Belts II

A three time champion

Sammy Guevara is the new AEW TNT champion, after defeating Scorpio Sky at Battle of Belts II in Dallas.

Late in the match, after Tay Conti prevented Scorpio from holding onto the ropes during an attempted reverse cradle, Paige VanZant ran down the aisle and began brawling with Conti. Referee Bryce Remsburg was distracted by the skirmish, and didn't see Guevara give Scorpio a low blow. Guevara then followed with a GTH to win the title.

After the match, Guevara and Conti kissed on the entrance ramp. According to Ryan Frederick from F4WOnline (who attended the taping), Guevara and Conti teased exiting through the heel tunnel before ultimately leaving through the babyface one. Fans in attendance mostly booed Guevara during the match, with what Frederick described as a 70/30 split in Scorpio's favor.

This is Guevara's third reign as AEW TNT champion. He defeated Miro in September to begin his first reign, before defeating Cody Rhodes in a ladder match on January 26 to officially begin his second.

Scorpio's reign as champion ends after 37 days. He defeated Guevara to win the title on March 9 in Fort Myers, FL.
