Sammy Guevara, Tay Conti Get Engaged
The two got engaged in Paris
AEW stars Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti have gotten engaged.
In an announcement made through TMZ on Friday, Guevara proposed to Conti at the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
As TMZ wrote, "Guevara, 28, asked Tay, real name Taynara Melo de Carvalho, to be his wife with one of the world's most iconic (and romantic) structures as a backdrop. In classic, old-school fashion, Sammy got down on one knee before asking Conti -- who he's been dating since December -- to marry him."
Guevara and Conti's relationship became part of AEW canon earlier this year. Though both had been babyface characters for some time before the acknowledgment, Guevara and Conti were turned heel on account of polarizing reactions their pairing has since received.
On Sunday night in Las Vegas, Guevara and Conti teamed with Frankie Kazarian in a loss to TNT champion Scorpio Sky, Ethan Page, and a debuting Paige VanZant at Double or Nothing. As per the pre-match stipulation, neither Guevara nor Kazarian can challenge for the TNT title while Sky still holds it.
Guevara and Conti also currently reign as AAA Mixed Tag Team champions.
