Samoa Joe Returns To WWE Raw As A Commentator
He replaces Jerry "The King" Lawler...
Apr 28, 2020
In late 2019, Samoa Joe enjoyed a brief spell as a commentator on Monday Night Raw. The Samoan Submission Machine was recovering from a broken thumb at the time and he received rave reviews from fans for his work as an announcer.
Joe returned to the commentary table on last night's episode of Raw alongside Byron Saxton and Tom Phillips. The news was first reported by Ryan Satin at Pro Wrestling Sheet who revealed the former United States Champion would commentate on at least one of the shows being taped last night, if not both.
His return to the commentary booth comes after a turbulent start to 2020 for The Submission Specialist. Joe returned to the ring on the January 6 episode of Raw, but the injury bug struck again as the former IMPACT Wrestling star suffered a concussion on January 27 in a tag team match against Seth Rollins and Murphy. Joe returned after two weeks but suffered another concussion only days later while filming the "Raw: Must Be Monday" commercial. Since the injury, the Raw star has been ruled out indefinitely.
