Samoa Joe Vs. HOOK Set For AEW Dynamite

HOOK set to take on Samoa Joe on AEW Dynamite

All Elite Wrestling returned to their spiritual home of Daily’s Place for the January 10 edition of Dynamite, a night where new AEW World Champion Samoa Joe detailed his vision for the company.

Joe spoke about how anyone who wants a shot at the gold will have to earn it by taking their reputation and win/loss record to the championship committee, and it seems that Joe officially has his first challenger after he was confronted by HOOK.

The ‘Cold Hearted Handsome Devil’ stared down the ‘Samoan Submission Machine’ and told him “one week”, with the two set to battle for the title on the January 17 edition of Dynamite. HOOK had earlier stated his intention to face the champ on a recent episode of AEW Collision.

The bout had long been announced on Twitter/X, with AEW President Tony Khan backing up his booking by going on a rant about Jinder Mahal. Regardless, HOOK has only been defeated once in singles competition during his run in AEW, so by Joe’s rules he has earned the right to test the champion.

Prior to HOOK making his presence felt, Joe was also approached by Swerve Strickland and Hangman Adam Page, and if Joe manages to get past HOOK then it will be interesting to see who is next on his hitlist.
