Samu Addresses Scrapped Plans For WWE Raw Is XXX

Headshrinker Samu has spoken of scrapped WWE Raw is XXX plans

Last month’s WWE Raw is XXX thirtieth anniversary show was originally set to feature a Bloodline ‘Acknowledgement Ceremony’ with the wider Anoa’i family and pay homage to Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

The angle was ultimately dropped and replaced with the trial of Sami Zayn, and former WWF Tag team Champion Headshrinker Samu Anoa’i has revealed what happened to the segment, saying the following during an appearance on the Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling Podcast:

“From what I know, yeah (we were all going to be part of the The Bloodline Acknowledgment Ceremony at WWE Raw 30). It was supposed to be Rikishi, myself, my dad [Afa], my uncle to name a few and my dad couldn’t fly at the time and Rikishi had pneumonia at the time so, everything just got put on the backburner,” said Samu.

Whilst the family couldn’t acknowledge The Bloodline on TV, Samu shared his pride at watching the current generation of Anoa’i’s doing well, whilst admitting he wishes son Lance Anoa’i could also get his time in the sun:

“Proud to be able to watch these kids (The Bloodline) do their thing. I’m proud to be here. I’m hoping one day, they’ll smarten up and put my son in there too. Lance, he’s been busting his ass… Been in the ring since he was five years old. But, everybody’s got their turn so, he’s still in the shadows waiting his turn. He’s still doing it, he’s still doing what he loves,” continued Samu.
