Santana Vs. Ortiz Match Set To Take Place In AEW
A highly personal singles match will take place on AEW Rampage
The former tag team partners turned bitter rivals on and off the screen will finally get a chance to go at it in an AEW ring.
Mike Santana and Ortiz were once one of the best tag teams on the planet, finding success in the likes of IMPACT Wrestling where they became four-time Tag Team Champions. They joined AEW in 2019, becoming members of the Inner Circle faction. Their status as a tag team did drop, involving themselves more in the Inner Circle’s business than in the tag team division.
Over time, it emerged that the pair’s relationship had suffered a fracture, and ever since it has seemingly not recovered. Their respective returns this year to AEW TV after months away saw them “reunite” on the Blackpool Combat Club’s team at AEW All In, but it was clear that things were still sour. This was turned into an on-screen angle following a social media spat, and the rivalry has played out on Rampage. The feud has been heating up, and the two will finally face off in a match next week.
Nothing else has yet been announced for Rampage.
