A popular professional wrestler in Italy may end up making an appearance at Sunday's Clash in Italy pay-per-view from the Inalpi Arena in Turin.
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select has reported that one idea pitched within WWE creative was for Santino Marella to make an appearance at Clash in Italy. There is no word on if the pitch went anywhere, but Marella is already in Italy and he will be a DJ at Sweet Chin Disco's Clash in Italy afterparty on Sunday night at Turin's Hiroshima Mon Amour, also featuring Ghost Bandit. Marella will also be a DJ for the Raw afterparty at the same venue in Turin on Monday, June 1.
While he is a Canadian pro wrestler, Santino Marella is of Italian descent. He also made his WWE debut in Milan, Italy on the April 16, 2007 episode of Raw when he was introduced as a fan and went on to upset Umaga to capture the WWE Intercontinental Championship. This ultimately resulted in the Milan Miracle nickname being bestowed upon him.
Marella is currently a part of TNA Wrestling, having been featured in the promotion as the on-screen director of authority since January 2023. The WWE NXT-TNA working relationship has seen Marella appear on WWE programming, however, and he also wrestled on the July 29, 2025 episode of NXT when he unsuccessfully challenged Ethan Page for the NXT North American Championship.
Five matches have been announced for WWE Clash in Italy, and the favourites within WWE creative for three of those matches has been revealed.
