Scott D'Amore Teases Return Of TNA Branding To IMPACT Wrestling

Scott D’Amore thinks it could be time for TNA to make a return

Despite being known officially as IMPACT Wrestling for a few years now, many fans still refer to them by their former name: TNA. Now, when you hear those three letters you either reminisce about the glory days of Samoa Joe and AJ Styles, or you laugh at the many terrible ways Dixie Carter and co. tried to keep the company relevant.

However, IMPACT EVP Scott D’Amore has hinted that it could be time for those three letters to return, possibly as a platform for the Knockouts Division. Speaking with the TMFI Wrestling Show, D’Amore said the following:

“As we come out of this pandemic environment and get back out there, certainly that’s a possibility. It’s a possibility that the TNA brand could return. I think it’s one of the things many – and certainly not at the top of the list – but one of the things that the pandemic has robbed us of is that opportunity to see a return of TNA.

“We have so many unbelievable Knockouts. Maybe we’ll end up continuing to grow the Knockouts division and give them their own separate platform.”

IMPACT were planning to run a TNA One Night Only event During WrestleMania week 2020, but plans were shelved due to Covid-19. Since then, Moose reigned as the self proclaimed TNA World Heavyweight Champion, until IMPACT World Champion Rich Swann unified the two titles after a winner takes all match.
