Scotty 2 Hotty Deletes Twitter Account Following Intergender Wrestling Tweets

Scotty's request not to be booked in matches against women drew some heated responses

Former WWE star Scotty 2 Hotty (Scott Garland) has deleted his Twitter account after receiving pushback for comments he made about intergender wrestling.

Garland had originally taken to the platform to ask promoters not to book him in intergender matches, writing:

"Dear promoters. I DO NOT "fight" women. I'm 49 & have a 20 year old daughter. "Hurting" women isn't appealing to me. I understand that there are men that do it these days. It's just not my thing. If that makes me old or out of touch, I'll take it. Please stop trying to book it".

He acknowledged that he had competed against women in the past, but reiterated his current feelings by writing:

"Also, before my matches from 20+ years ago with Linda Miles, Chyna, or any other women are brought up, I know what I did. It was a different time, a different place, & I wasn't a father to a 20 yr old daughter".

Evidently, his stance on intergender wrestling drew some heated responses, because Garland soon deleted his account.

Prior to deleting his account, Garland engaged in debate with some who took issues with his original tweet, replying to one user:

"Because ethically, hurting any woman, especially one that is my daughters age is not cool to me. Whether it's show or not. From a storytelling standpoint, how do I be the babyface that I've worked hard to create when I'm hurting a woman?".

The former WWE Tag Team Champion was working as a trainer at the Performance Center before requesting his release last November. He has since returned to wrestling on the independent circuit.
