Scrapped Pitch For Edge Match At WWE Money In The Bank Revealed

Edge was reportedly pitched to wrestle at WWE Money in the Bank 2023

Money in the Bank 2023 was a svelte seven match affair, with the London based ‘premium live event’ following a trend of shorted more focused PPV level events from WWE in 2023.

One match that was considered for the show however, would have seen Sheamus take on Edge in singles action, with Sheamus revealing to Matty Paddock that a bout between the two former WWE Champions was talked about but ‘didn’t go anywhere’. Both men ended up not wrestling at all on the Money in the Bank card.

Despite their storied runs in WWE, Sheamus and Edge have never faced off in singles competition, but have clashed in multi-man matches on several occasions, most notably when Sheamus emerged victorious in a WWE Championship fatal four way match at Fatal Four Way 2010 that also featured Edge, John Cena, and Randy Orton.

So far Edge has wrestled six times in 2023, with the ‘Rated R Superstar’ most recently competing on the July 7 edition of WWE SmackDown, with Edge getting the win over Grayson Waller in singles competition. There’s no word on if WWE plans to run an Edge vs. Sheamus storyline in the future.
