Scrapped Pitch For Finn Balor To Make NJPW Return Revealed

Finn Balor pitched a return to NJPW

Finn Balor has not wrestled for New Japan Pro-Wrestling since 2014 but it has been revealed the former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion pitched an NJPW return to WWE during a period when he was off TV.

Rocky Romero revealed to Comedy Store Wrestling: "I've had a couple of fun conversations with him (Finn Balor) over the last couple of years of like him kind of fantasy booking and you know, 'I'm gonna talk to Triple H and see if there's an opportunity here for me to come back.' This was years ago. But yeah, just to come back and do a couple matches and just kind of reheat himself up before going back to WWE."

Balor ultimately didn't go back to New Japan. He was previously a star in the promotion between 2006 and 2014 as Prince Devitt, during which he founded Bullet Club and established himself as the faction's original leader.

Balor joined WWE in 2014 and he is currently a member of Judgment Day. The 41-year-old is a former Universal, Intercontinental, United States, and NXT Champion.
