Ring of Honor Supercard of Honor is set to feature the best talents from ROH, NJPW, and AAA, with the likes of Hiroshi Tanahashi, El Hijo Del Vikingo, and Katsuyori Shibata making special appearances at the event. But it seems like there were plans for another top NJPW star to be involved at Supercard of Honor.

On the pre-PPV media call, ROH President Tony Khan admitted that former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Will Ospreay was set to make an appearance at Supercard of Honor XVI before suffering a shoulder injury. Ospreay’s injury saw him pull out of IMPACT x NJPW Multiverse United on March 30, with it currently unknown just when the ‘Commonwealth Kingpin’ will return to in-ring action.

Khan did not go into specifics as to the scrapped plans for Ospreay at Supercard of Honor, but the United Empire will be represented at the show, with Aussie Open challenging for the vacant ROH World Tag Team Championships in a five-team Reach for the Sky Ladder Match.
