Paul 'Triple H' Levesque has revealed what his original plans for WrestleMania 38 were, before he suffered a cardiac event that resulted in his in-ring retirement.
Speaking with Ariel Helwani for BT Sport, The Game noted that he was given the opportunity to do anything he wanted and that he had earmarked a young prospect to work with.
"I was going to do something with Gable Steveson and try to get him launched and get going," Levesque said, noting that he was going to "put him over".
After suffering his cardiac event, Levesque was subsequently fitted with a defibrillator, disqualifying him from wrestling. On night two of WrestleMania 38, he left his wrestling boots in the ring, signifying the end of his active career.
Steveson, meanwhile, got into a physical altercation with Chad Gable following night two's opening match.
The Olympic gold medalist has not been seen in WWE since, with recent reports suggesting that the company may have cooled on him due to a lack of progress in training.
