Report: Ace Steel Expected To Depart AEW Following Backstage Altercation

Ace Steel looks to be gone from AEW

Ace Steel's future with All Elite Wrestling is in doubt following his involvement in a backstage altercation between CM Punk and The Elite after the AEW World Champion's post-All Out press conference.

Punk, who was at the press conference to speak about his AEW World Title win, quickly turned his attention to Colt Cabana at the media scrum before he accused the AEW EVPs of spreading lies and called Hangman Page a "dumb f*ck" who went into business for himself.

It has since emerged that The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega went to Punk's locker room after the incident to confront him and an altercation broke out after Punk threw punches at The Young Bucks. Ace Steel then became involved due to his wife being in the vicinity and the AEW producer threw a chair at Nick Jackson which left him with a black eye, with a source telling Fightful Select that Steel was lucky not to be in jail. Kenny Omega was also allegedly bitten by Steel during a tussle.

Both parties were then separated and after much cursing and shouting, Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks left the area.

Fightful Select noted that several sources within AEW believe Ace Steel will "not be back in the company after this incident."  There was also an "incredible amount of heat" on the AEW producer following the fight.

Ace Steel has only been with All Elite Wrestling for a short time, having joined the promotion earlier this year following his WWE release in January. He had recently been on AEW TV as a friend of Punk's encouraging him to challenge for the AEW World Championship at All Out.
