Report: Kenny Omega Bitten, Chair Thrown During AEW Backstage Altercation Involving CM Punk

A major incident backstage in AEW

Further details about the altercation between CM Punk and The Young Bucks after the AEW World Champion's post-All Out press conference have emerged.

Initial reports noted that CM Punk threw punches at The Young Bucks which came after Punk accused the AEW EVPs of spreading lies alongside other comments about Colt Cabana and Hangman Page.

In an update, PWInsider reported that Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks went to CM Punk's locker room after the press conference to confront him. It was noted by F4W Online that CM Punk started the incident by throwing punches at The Young Bucks. At some point, AEW producer and Punk's friend Ace Steel arrived and he got involved because his wife was in the vicinity of the incident looking after Punk's dog Larry.

Reports from Fightful Select and F4W Online noted that Ace Steel threw a chair at Nick Jackson which left him with at least a black eye and possibly "rocked" him, with one source telling Fightful that Steel was lucky not to be in jail. Kenny Omega and Steel also tussled and the former AEW World Champion was allegedly bitten by Steel.

After this, several backstage separated the two parties, including Christopher Daniels and Pat Buck, and the argument continued with much cursing and shouting until Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks left. Tony Khan was not involved as he was still at the AEW press conference, while FTR and Hangman Page had already left the arena. Chris Jericho's calm demeanour at the press conference was praised and he has been credited with stepping up in a leadership role over the past couple of weeks.

The reaction to the incident has been mixed within AEW as some believe The Elite should not have approached Punk in his locker room while he was annoyed. Fightful noted the "large majority" think Punk should have expected to be approached after his comments at the press conference.

The incident could have legal ramifications which is part of why AEW have yet to comment publicly on the situation. The belief within the organisation is that AEW are likely trying to decide what course of action will be taken after blame has been assigned.
