Seth Rollins' WWE plans following SummerSlam were revealed on the August 5 edition of Monday Night Raw.

Rollins picked up his issues with CM Punk on WWE Raw only moments after Punk had expressed his desire to face Drew McIntyre again. Rollins interrupted Punk, telling him it was time to put Punk in the dirt, and the two talents were about to brawl until Drew McIntyre appeared in the crowd and mocked both Rollins and Punk.

Punk then ran off in pursuit of McIntyre which left Rollins all alone in the ring, only for the former World Heavyweight Champion to be taken out from out of nowhere by Bronson Reed. Rollins tried to fight back but he was quickly overpowered by Reed, who laid him out with several Sentons and six Tsunamis.

Bronson Reed was not booked on SummerSlam, while Seth Rollins served as the special guest referee for CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre. Reed has only had four PPV matches since returning to WWE and two of those matches were the Royal Rumble and a SummerSlam battle royal.

Bronson Reed and Seth Rollins have never faced each other in singles action and the only time they have interacted on WWE TV was in the United States Title Elimination Chamber match in 2023.
