Seth Rollins Vs. Omos Set For WWE Backlash

WWE have announced a match between Seth Rollins and Omos for WWE Backlash 2023

In what may be one of the most random match announcements of 2023, Seth “Freakin” Rollins has been scheduled for a match at the Backlash PPV in Puerto Rico against the giant Omos.

On the most recent episode of Friday Night SmackDown, a graphic popped up showing that this match had been made official for the upcoming PPV event on May 6. This will have come as a shock to almost everybody considering the fact that the two men haven’t so much as uttered each other’s name, let alone set up a whole feud.

This continues an unfortunate trend of Omos getting last-minute PPV matches which seem like a backup plan, much like his WrestleMania 39 clash with Brock Lesnar which came out of absolutely nowhere. WWE will likely begin the build to this feud over the coming weeks, though it would’ve been perhaps more logical to do that first and announce the match second. At least other matches on the show such as Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar and The Bloodline vs. Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, & Matt Riddle have some semblance of build.
