AJ Styles is scheduled to retire at some point in 2026, but The Phenomenal One may have one more match in TNA before he leaves his boots in the ring.

According to BodySlam, several people within WWE believe AJ Styles will have a match in TNA before his in-ring retirement. This doesn't confirm there are any plans for Styles to wrestle, only that people within WWE are of the belief Styles will have a match in TNA at some point this year.

AJ Styles made another return to TNA on January 15, opening the Thursday Night IMPACT premiere on AMC to put over the promotion. Styles then had a backstage segment with then-TNA World Champion Frankie Kazarian and teased a future TNA World Title match by looking at the title across Kazarian's shoulders. Kazarian, however, lost the TNA World Title to Mike Santana in the main event of IMPACT.

AJ Styles made his initial return to TNA at Slammiversary 2025 and the 48-year-old made it clear at the time that he wanted to have a match in TNA, but he didn't make any promises about such a match happening.

AJ Styles is one of the biggest stars in TNA history, and he was Mr. TNA, working for the promotion from its inception in 2002 until his exit in December 2013 after being asked to take a pay cut.

Across his TNA career, Styles is a three-time NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion, two-time TNA World Champion, six-time TNA X-Division Champion, two-time TNA Television Champion, and six-time tag team champion.
