Shane McMahon Meets With AEW's Tony Khan To Discuss 'Possibilities Moving Forward'

According to a report from WrestleTalk and Fightful, Shane McMahon and AEW CEO Tony Khan had a private meeting on the afternoon of Monday, July 29 to discuss "possibilities moving forward." 

The meeting took place at a private Arlington airport and Khan has reportedly been "very open" about using Shane McMahon for several weeks. Khan had also made it clear backstage at AEW shows that he was open to speaking with McMahon. How deep talks between Shane McMahon and Tony Khan went is unknown beyond that the two sides met on Monday. 

It emerged in June 2024 that Shane McMahon had spoken to people working for AEW about possibly making an appearance in the promotion. Tony Khan noted soon after that he had never spoken to Shane but that the former WWE executive and son of Vince McMahon was  "always welcome" in All Elite Wrestling.

Shane McMahon then had a chance meeting with Mercedes Moné at an airport following Forbidden Door, during which they discussed AEW. 

Shane McMahon has spent the entirety of his pro wrestling career with WWE. He hasn't appeared for the company since he tore his quad at WrestleMania 39 and it was noted earlier this Summer that McMahon was no longer under contract with WWE.
