Sky Blue has undergone surgery on her broken ankle, with the procedure taking place on July 30.
The All Elite Wrestling star suffered the injury on the July 20 edition of AEW Collision, landing awkwardly during a crossbody spot with Hikaru Shida. Blue was unable to continue the match, with the referee declaring Shida the winner due to stoppage.
Fellow AEW star Kyle Fletcher shared an image of Blue with her leg in plaster outside a medical facility on July 30, asking fans on X/Twitter to “send prayers & cat toys”. Blue’s partner Fletcher originally confirmed the injury on an earlier post on X, with initial reports suggesting Blue had broken her ankle.
There is no word on how long Blue will be out of action for, with a broken ankle usually taking six to eight weeks to heal, plus time for the joint itself to regain strength and full function, and even more time for rehab and training ahead of an in-ring return.
Blue is the latest name on a growing list of injured stars for AEW, with the likes of Dalton Castle, Trent Beretta, and Riho all also out of action.
