Shayna Baszler Says It Was "Time To Move On" From NXT

Admits she misses the energy of the brand...

Following a two and a half year run in NXT where she twice held the Women's title (once for over 400 days), Shayna Baszler made her way to the Raw brand in the early part of 2020. Today, she reigns as one half of the Women's Tag Team champions alongside Nia Jax.

Baszler appeared on Kayla Braxton's "Braxton Beat" Instagram show to discuss making that transition. Though she admits she misses elements of NXT, she does say that she had to move on for the sake of keeping things fresh.

“When you watch Monday, Wednesday, Fridays, there's a certain aura, energy, that each show kind of specifically has on its own," Baszler said. "There is this kind of gritty energy that NXT has, you know, and it is something that I miss. But I ruled that division and so it was time to move on.

"If you want to keep fresh, you gotta do stuff like that, even if it seems like it sucks. It's like graduating high school. It sucked kind of, but you have to do it.”

Baszler takes part in Sunday night's Survivor Series pay-per-view as part of the Raw brand women's team in a five-on-five elimination match.
