Anyone who was under the impression that Shelton Benjamin was happy to coast was misinformed.

Benjamin recently spoke to TV Insider, where he was asked what he wanted to accomplish during this run that he hasn't yet done in a glittering career spanning over two decades.

"I want a world title, period. That is one of the things I got in the business for. There was this article saying I was just happy to be on the roster. Where is this BS coming from? From the day I stepped into pro wrestling, I wanted to be a world heavyweight champion. Coming to AEW, that goal has not changed. I think everyone should strive for that. I think the day I retire that is something I am going to want. If I get the opportunity, I am going to make the most of it", Benjamin said.

The 49-year-old has wrestled three matches for AEW thus far, defeating Lio Ruhs and Sammy Guevara but falling to Swerve Strickland.

His pursuit of gold may be bolstered by the arrival of Bobby Lashley, who made his AEW debut on last night's edition of Dynamite by attacking Strickland and Prince Nana and forming The Hurt Syndicate with Shelton and MVP.
