Shingo Takagi & BUSHI Cleared For NJPW Wrestle Grand Slam

The pair had previously tested positive for COVID-19

IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Shingo Takagi and BUSHI have been cleared to return at NJPW Wrestle Grand Slam on September 4 and 5.

Per a report in Tokyo Sports, the duo are set for this coming weekend’s shows at MetLife Dome, in Saitama Japan, having been out of action since Summer Struggle on August 15.

Before the Summer Struggle show, both men reported fevers, and after positive tests, were pulled form the Summer Struggle tour by NJPW.

Per The Wrestling Observer, Tetsuya Naito, SANADA, EVIL, Gedo, Dick Togo, and Yujiro Takahashi were also pulled after the August 15 show, having been in close contact with Shingo and BUSHI, with EVIL, Sanada, and Naito still scheduled for the Sunday Wrestle grand Slam show.

Here are the updated cards for both Wrestle Grand Slam shows:

Night One - Saturday September 4: 

  •  Hiroshi Tanahashi (c) vs. Kota Ibushi - IWGP United States Championship
  • Kazuchika Okada vs. Jeff Cobb
  • Chase Owens (c) vs. Toru Yano - Provisional KOPW 2021 No DQ, I Quit match
  • SHO vs. YOH
  • Robbie Eagles & Tiger Mask vs. Hiromu Takahashi & BUSHI
  • STARDOM exhibition match TBA - Pre-Show

Night two - Sunday September 5:

  • Shingo Takagi (c) vs. EVIL - IWGP World Heavyweight Championship
  • Robbie Eagles (c) vs. Hiromu Takahashi - IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship
  • Taichi & Zack Sabre Jr. (c) vs. Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI vs. Tetsuya Naito & SANADA - IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championship
  • Taiji Ishimori & El Phantasmo (c) vs. El Desperado & Yoshinobu Kanemaru - IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship
