Shinsuke Nakamura Vs. Jey Uso Announced For WWE SmackDown

After the events of the gauntlet...

Shinsuke Nakamura will face Jey Uso on next Friday's edition of WWE SmackDown, stemming from the outcome of a gauntlet match on this past week's show. The match was made official on Talking Smack.

On Friday night's broadcast, Nakamura made it to the end of a gauntlet to determine a number one contender for Roman Reigns' Universal title at the Royal Rumble.

After dispatching Daniel Bryan, King Corbin, and Rey Mysterio in succession, Nakamura was met with on-screen authority Adam Pearce in the final stage of the gauntlet. An unwilling entrant, Pearce was flanked by Reigns, Uso, and Paul Heyman. Heyman essentially forced Pearce into the match, due to some of his recent matchmakings that didn't benefit Reigns.

Before the bell sounded, Nakamura was laid out by Reigns and Uso prior to the final fall. Pearce was then superkicked by Uso, but then placed on top of the fallen Nakamura, where he scored the pinfall to secure the title shot.

As it stands, Pearce will face Reigns for the Universal title at the Royal Rumble.
