Shinsuke Nakamura Wants A World Title Match Following His WWE Return

Shinsuke Nakamura wants a shot at a world title after returning to WWE

After several months away from WWE, Shinsuke Nakamura made his triumphant return on the April 14 edition of SmackDown, and has stated his desire to return to the main event scene.

Nakamura defeated Madcap Moss on SmackDown - his first televised WWE match since November 2022 - and in a post-match exclusive with WWE, Nakamura revealed he has his eyes set on some world championship gold:

“I’m glad to be back. I’ve been to Japan, so I had a great victory against Great Muta. That was a historic [match]. Then I recharged, I rebooted," Nakamura said.

Nakamura continued, revealing what's next for him: “I need some meat. I need a great opponent. Also, I aim for [the] world title.”

Nakamura has had several shots at the WWE Championship during his run on the main roster, memorably feuding with AJ Styles over the title in 2018. Nakamura has never held a world title in WWE - unless you count the NXT Championship - and it looks like he wants to rectify this sooner rather than later.
