Snoop Dogg Says WWE Wasn't Happy With His AEW Appearance

Snoop Dogg appeared on Dynamite back in January

When it was announced that Snoop Dogg would be making an appearance on the January 6 episode of AEW Dynamite (New Year's Smash) in Cody Rhodes' corner, reports emerged that WWE wasn't happy with Snoop appearing for "the competition".

In an appearance on Hot 97's Ebro in the Morning podcast (which included WWE personality Peter Rosenberg), Snoop confirmed WWE's dismay over him doing an AEW appearance.

“They felt some type of way,” Snoop Dogg said of WWE, adding that he was there to promote TBS' Go-Big Show, which he and Rhodes both serve as judges on.

“This is the dynamics of what happened: I had a show on TBS called Go-Big Show," Snoop said. "So, Cody Rhodes was one of the judges on the show, and he’s one of the top dogs at AEW. So, as a promotional vehicle for the gig, I went on AEW.”

Snoop Dogg then went on to claim that WWE temporarily froze him out for doing the Dynamite appearance.

Snoop summed up WWE's reaction as, "'Hey, you f--king with them? We got to push pause on your ass for a minute.'

“So, I say, ‘cool.’ They pushed pause for about two weeks, and then they say, ‘Hey man, we got this video game and we need you.’ Well, you know what? Since y’all told me to push pause, that’ll be double.”

Snoop Dogg was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2016 as a celebrity inductee.
