Solo Sikoa Wins WWE NXT North American Title

Solo Sikoa captures gold on WWE NXT!

A shocking title change took place on Tuesday's edition of WWE NXT.

Carmelo Hayes was originally scheduled to defend his NXT North American Title against Wes Lee in the main event of Tuesday's show following a fan vote but the champion and Trick Williams attacked Lee backstage prior to the match. With no opponent, Hayes and Williams instead spoke about how everyone in WWE was after him which led to the sudden appearance of Solo Sikoa.

The newest member of The Bloodline announced that he was next in line for a title shot and the impromptu championship match was booked for the main event. After 10 minutes, Sikoa pinned Hayes following a Splash to capture the North American Title, ending Carmelo's second reign after 102 days.

Sikoa's title win came as a surprise since he had moved to the main roster, debuting at Clash At The Castle and helping Roman Reigns to retain his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Drew McIntyre. Sikoa then made his main roster in-ring debut on SmackDown against McIntyre in a match that ended in a no contest.
