A former WWE NXT star made their debut in All Elite Wrestling at the promotion's Rampage taping on Wednesday night.

AEW taped Rampage following a live edition of Dynamite and set up for the Friday night show was an AEW All-Atlantic Title match between Orange Cassidy and an opponent of Kip Sabian's choosing.

The competitor Sabian chose was a surprise to many as Trent Seven made his debut on the show. The debut wasn't a successful one for The Artful Dodger, though, as he was defeated by Cassidy following a Beach Break. Seven, Sabian, and Penelope Ford then attacked The King of Sloth Style after the match until Dustin Rhodes made the save to end the taping.

Trent Seven was previously a part of WWE from 2016 until August 2022, competing on the NXT and NXT UK brands where he became NXT Tag Team Champions and NXT UK Tag Team Champions with Moustache Mountain tag team partner Tyler Bate. The team split up earlier this year, though, and Seven was released by WWE in August along with much of the NXT UK roster after WWE shuttered the brand. In it's place, WWE will launch NXT Europe next year.

Since his WWE release, Seven has wrestled three times for OTT Wrestling, including against Matt Cardona. He also challenged Joe Hendry for the IMPACT Digital Media Championship in Poland.
