SPOILER: Impromptu Title Match Takes Place On AEW Collision

MJF put the World Title on the line during the taping of AEW Collision

With Canada Day set for July 1, All Elite Wrestling decided to tape Saturday night's edition of AEW Collision from the FirstOntario Centre in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada on Thursday, June 29.

Advertised for the show was the AEW Collision debut of MJF and the AEW World Champion was in action on the show, defeating Kip Morst via submission with the LeBell Lock. Friedman then complained about having to wrestle following the match before Friedman said he would defend the AEW World Title against anyone right here, right now.

This led to hometown hero Ethan Page making his way to the ring and All Ego cut a babyface promo that received a huge reaction. After he trash-talked MJF, Friedman eventually agreed to put the belt on the line against Page.

Both men were said to have then had a very good back-and-forth match and Page had plenty of near falls before MJF scored the victory with his Heatseeker finisher, using the ropes for good measure to pick up the 1-2-3.

The match with Page taped on June 29 was only the fifth time MJF has defended the AEW World Championship since winning the gold in November 2022. He has so far defeated the likes of Ricky Starks, Bryan Danielson, and Hiroshi Tanahashi.
