SPOILER On Major WWE Return Planned For SmackDown

SPOILER on return planned for WWE SmackDown

A major return is planned for Friday night's edition of SmackDown from Providence, Rhode Island.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the plan right now is AJ Styles will be back on WWE TV from Friday's SmackDown.

"AJ Styles is gonna be back on Friday. Or he's supposed to be back on Friday - he was supposed to be back a couple of weeks ago and wasn't back. But that's the plan right now," Meltzer stated.

The two-time WWE Champion has been off WWE TV since he was taken out by The Bloodline on the September 22 episode of SmackDown. The expectation around the time he was taken out was Styles would face Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship but it is not clear if that match will now be happening.

Styles was originally scheduled to return to WWE TV on the November 10 edition of SmackDown but his return was scrapped for an unknown reason.

WWE's next major event will be the Royal Rumble on January 27 so the company has plenty of time to set up a new feud for the 46-year-old.
