SPOILERS: First-Time-Ever Match Announced For IMPACT Slammiversary 2022

A TNA classic... with a twist at Slammiversary 2022

We are on the road to Slammiversary 2022, with IMPACT Wrestling looking to celebrate its 20th anniversary in style.

During the recent TV tapings after the No Surrender IMPACT Plus special, IMPACT producer Gail Kim took to the ring to announce that Slammiversary will see the first ever Queen of the Mountain match, with Tasha Steelz, Chelsea Green, Deonna Purrazzo, Jordynne Grace, and Mia Yim confirmed as participants.

This will be the first ‘Mountain’ match since May 2016’s King of the Mountain Championship match, where Bram emerged victorious.

The rules are like a reverse ladder match, with competitors aiming to climb a ladder and hang the title from a suspended apparatus, with competitors only eligible to attempt to hang the belt after pinning or submitting an opponent, with said opponent taking time out in a penalty cage as a result.

Despite being logistically complicated, the King of the Mountain match reigned for many years as TNA/IMPACT’s premier match stipulation, with 12 KOTM matches taking place between 2004 and 2016.
